In October of 1976, I was eighteen years old and had my first job. I thought I had the world by the tail. I worked all summer and saved a hundred dollars a week to buy my second car. My first car was pretty, however, when Daddy got off work he just picked it up and towed it home from where ever it broke down at.

All I wanted was a Mustang. All my life I wanted a Mustang. So this is what I saved up for. When the new 1977 models came out, I saw her on the lot and knew she had to be mine. I went to school the next day while my Mother went to the Ford dealer and did all the paper work for her. She then picked me up at school in my new car. I thought I was hot stuff.

I named my car, Mussey Mae. Mussey Mae has a 302-V-8 engine. During my hot rod stage I changed the carburetor to a four-barrel Holley with a 289-intake manifold. I then added headers and duel exhausts. Later came all the chrome I could get for the engine.
