I purchased this 1978 King from the original owner on 12/31/01. It has gone through numerous stages in the past 11 months and I'm still about 4 weeks away from starting her up. The body and interior will remain stock. The original motor has been replaced by an 89 5.0 HO EFI w/mild E-303 cam from Ford Motorsport. I lower intake has been ceramic coated as are the ported MII exhaust manifolds. I was fortunate enough to come across a Detroit Locker already setup in an MII axel with the original 2.79 gears. All I had to do was detail it and convert to the 5 lug axels to hold the 225/50/15 and 205/50/15 tires mounted on Edelbrock 409 rims. The interior is reupholstered with black vinyl and NOS black and white check Sante Fe. New carpet, headliner, and a fully functional 8Track round out the interior. I am currently installing the Heidt's A-arms and two inch dropped spindles on the front. The rear has already been dropped 2" with blocks but I have found a spring shop that will de-arch the overly arched Eaton-Detroits that replaced the saggy stock rears. I will replace some of these pics with more current shots when the car is running.
